Summer brings yard work, and dealing with weeds growing in all the wrong places, if you
look on the net for weed killer an article will come up on home made weed killer being "HOT WATER" I found this to be interesting? so I built my own water heater using propane for fuel and an old
weed sprayer tank and pump, the only problem so far is getting all the heat you are creating with the propane torch turned
into hot water. I used two
pipes one being 3 inch diameter and the other being 4.5 inch diameter the larger pipe is placed over the smaller pipe and
the ends welded leaving the small pipe open on each end for the flame torch to travel through, this worked good, I made
my own presure relief valve to control any high steam presure, the water heater being of somewhat a small volume would not
be a big explosion threat anyway. one isue is for a lot heat coming
out the exhaust that couldbe used to heat water, so I added a 20 foot 3/8 soft copper coil to the exhaust end, this
did help a lot, going to add another ten feet of copper tube to inprove it a little more, this should help in the amount of
fuel used. so far this weed
scorcher is working ok, it's safe to use around buildings and your not using some chemical that some day is found to cause
cancer in Rats?
