My Brother In-Law has a pond with a steep bank that he had to use a hand held weed eater to cut the grass down to the waters edge, using a weed eater, this took him three hours to cut around the pond. I built  him a side mount, offset mower that can reach over the bank and mow the grass, this mower works great, for ditches, steep banks and under pine trees. quite easy to build from old mower parts.
